| Major League Soccer Is Still In Its Infancy |
|
The North Americans might appreciate their Major League Soccer, and while this level of football is the highest attainable in Canada in the United States, still the level of competition can't be matched to that of its European counterparts, and in particular English First Division football. No offense to the American game, but even with stars like Beckham, you can't compete with the greatness of the sport that is offered from exciting English teams such as Arsenal FC. Now while the MLS is still a fledgling organization, and we can appreciate the effort to introduce the world's greatest sport to North America, there is a long ways to go before teams like the Los Angeles Galaxy are going to match up on the pitch with great football teams like Arsenal. Perhaps some fans might be amused with exhibition matches and the like with their American cousins, but truly, for top level football, you're going to still need to travel to England to see the greatest players playing the greatest game. Sorry Toronto FC, you're just not ready for the real big leagues yet, but maybe one day you'll get a chance to match up against the Gunners. |
